DIY Toddlers Activities: The Sticky Wall

I will do a rotation for DIY toddlers activities so that Sticky Bean won't get bored of it so fast. Personally toys and activities rotation works for Sticky Bean. We tend to keep her some of her toys and rotate them then she will play with them for a longer period of time.

And so as Sticky Bean got bored of the pom pom drop activity gradually, I introduced a new DIY toddler activity for her, which helps in building her creativity and honing her fine motor skills too.

Let's just call it the Sticky Wall activity. It's another simple DIY toddlers activities requiring minimal effort to prepare.

Materials:
Pieces of colourful construction paper / poms poms / feathers / tissue, in fact anything that's lightweight
Pair of scissors
Temporary glue spray or contact paper (self adhesive sheets)

Cut various shapes from the construction papers

I came across this product hence thought to try the spray, thinking that it is temporary. But big mistake, this spray mount is repositionable but NOT Temporary. I have difficulties removing the adhesive completely from our wall..horrors...(good thing we are still staying in the old flat whilst waiting for our BTO to be ready)

After this experience, I did another version with just contact sheets or rather self adhesive plastic.

Keeping herself really busy sticking the pieces on the wall

I've later introduced the poms poms as well. So this was her masterpiece!

This simple DIY toddler actvity -  The Sticky Wall Activity kept Sticky Bean intrigued for couple of days and allow me to prepare dinner in total peace.

Here's into Day 3 of the Sticky Wall Activity

still keeping herself busy

Age attempted: 18 mths
Duration entertained: >30 minutes
Will I try this again? : With this adhesive spray, definitely not since it leaves the wall sticky. I bought contact paper to do a similar version but she loses interest in it really fast so probably not.

DIY Toddlers Activities: Pom Pom Drop

I've been searching for simple DIY toddlers activities to keep Sticky Bean busy whilst mama prepares dinner each evening and this was among the first activity introduced together with the sensory bottles (which she's outgrown sensory bottles @ 16mths)

This simple DIY toddler activity helps with fine motor skills and kept Sticky Bean entertained for a long time.

At 18mths, toddlers love to put items into a bottle or container and love taking them out. This repetitive action can keep them going for quite a while.

All you need is a recycled plastic bottle and poms poms!
When she kind of got bored of the bottle some 2 weeks later, I modified the same play with an old yoghurt tub, cut holes on the lid and voila!  It became a same same but yet so different activity altogether.

Materials
- poms poms
- recycled bottles or containers

Simple DIY toddlers activities like these help them hone their fine motor skills at such a low cost and with just a little effort.

I'm so addicted to simple DIY toddlers activities like these, I've been googling for tons of ideas and done a few variations of DIY toddlers activities. Shall share them bit by bit here.

For a start, here's a good consolidation of various types of pom pom activities for toddlers:

Kids' Mini sofa for Babies and Toddlers

Seeing how much Sticky bean loves to climb onto the sofa and chillax together with us, I've decided to get her, her very own mini sofa!

Initially I had wanted to purchase a kids' mini sofa from Taobao but after calculating the shipping costs, it doesn't seem like an economical choice.

I'm so glad i chanced upon this seller at qoo10 whose running a promotion on kids mini sofa. They ran out of stocks for my 1st choice hence i have to purchase this kids mini sofa model which is slightly more expensive then my first choice.

We have no regrets since! Sticky bean loves her kids mini sofa and will sit there while watching tv or whenever she is snacking.

Here's Sticky bean enjoying her apple on her kids mini sofa.

She really loves the kids mini sofa and I must say the quality is pretty good and sturdy.  Money well spent!
