Wedding stuff from Chinatown

Went over to Chinatown with Mr. Keir and Mama to check out if there's any suitable Chinese Customary Wedding items for us..

and here are some of the loots...

There're tons of shops selling traditional chinese wedding items at Chinatown market or Chinatown complex as it's commonly known as.

It's the market nearest to CK departmental store.

They've plenty of wedding bedsheets to choose from with prices as low as $30++ for a simple bedsheet set to $60+ for a silk wedding bed sheet.

We didn't really want the traditional wedding bedsheet cos you'll probably only use it for a while. So we got a white based floral bedsheet as our wedding bedsheet. At least we can still use it after the wedding.

Hmm not sure if this is considered reasonably priced, didn't take a picture of our bedsheet cos Mr. Keir kept it in a rather inaccessible area as soon as we got back..Zzzz.

Anyway we'll need a plain based bedsheet cos our bedframe is read. Most wedding bedsheets are red and it's gona look awful on our bed frame.

Love the swaroski crystals on the headboard..hehz..gives it a classy feel...
The bed sheet we bought was 450 thread count, comes with quilt cover as well an it costs us $90.
Bought the comforter at $30 => gave us $10 discount so total = $120.

Still cheaper than robinsons i guess...

to give our bed that extra "wedding" kind of feel, we bought the pair of cushion above for $26.

THe wedding ang pows there average about $1.30 - $1.80 for the bigger pieces...and ooh i bought the wedding lamps online from another bride for only $10..ahaha...cos u probably only gona use it on your wedding day. not looking at spending too much for such stuffs.

As you can see, we try to simplify the traditional stuffs as much as possible.
So we only bought

- wedding cushion (shown above)
- few packs of wedding ang pow packets (shown above)
- Red umbrella with frills ($10)
- Wedding stickers ($1.80 each)
- "wedding" bedsheet

Taiwan Kids friendly Accommodation with slides - not your usual list!

And so from a mere idea of bringing Sticky Bean with us to Taiwan, this idea was put into action with Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promotion where you get to pay only $70 for a child's ticket! Though it's not exactly the cheapest option for flying to Taiwan, we thought to pay a little more for better service and not to mention safety since it will be Sticky Bean's first time traveling on a relatively longer flight. Her first plane ride was a really short one to KL, a mere 1 hour away. That was one of the many reasons why we want to go Taiwan too!

BTO Keys Collection and BTO Door Opening Ceremony

And so after a long 4 years wait, our BTO is finally ready for keys collection. To be honest we totally forgot about out BTO and was pleasantly surprised to receive an SMS from HDB to inform us of our BTO keys collection date. That was when we frantically tried to hunt for an ID. Ok to cut the story short, here's what happened on the BTO keys collection day as well as what we did for our "BTO Door Opening Ceremony". There really wasn't an official BTO door opening ritual or ceremony in fengshui. I guess this is just a Singapore custom. Our 7 Day 6 Nights Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary Preview

Here's a preview of our Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary for our trip to Taiwan earlier this month in May 2017. You can click on the respective days for a detailed post. And so we finally embarked on our journey to Taiwan onboard Singapore Airlines! Thanks to Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promo, we decided to splurge a little on the air tickets. The air tickets cost about $1,440 for 2 adults and 1 3.5 yr old. We spent a total of 7 days 6 nights in Taiwan altogether. But in order to make our Taiwan trip more child-friendly, relaxing, and to cut down on travelling time, we merely visited the North part of Taiwan primarily - Hsinchu, Yilan and Taipei.
