Light for our Bedroom

To shop for a suitable light for our red / white themed contemporary bedroom, we went to the infamous Balestier of course!

It's like a must go if you're shopping for lights since it's a whole street filled with nothing but lights stores ahaha..
Though disappointing, most of the designs we've seen there across the shops are pretty similar & not much of a difference in price too.

I would love to have a chandelier lighting in our room but since we're no longer doing the red and black theme for the room, a chandelier lighting may not be so suitable. Furthermore the ceiling's not high enough to have a nice chandelier light..

and then..we chanced upon the Nova Furniture at Paya Lebar Road, A-Z building. Didn't know they had lights as well. They are also having a moving out clearance sale and so..the deal is on!!

Tadah! Light for our bedroom has been decided and fixed. For a mere $150 including installation and removal of the old light.

They can arrange for delivery and installation the next working day and timing wise very accurate.
Fix 10am means 10am zhun zhun come!
Good service!

Just that we need to repaint the ceiling a little.
The design blends in totally with our red/white contemporary style neh!

Another good buy both of us were satisfied with!

Taiwan Kids friendly Accommodation with slides - not your usual list!

And so from a mere idea of bringing Sticky Bean with us to Taiwan, this idea was put into action with Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promotion where you get to pay only $70 for a child's ticket! Though it's not exactly the cheapest option for flying to Taiwan, we thought to pay a little more for better service and not to mention safety since it will be Sticky Bean's first time traveling on a relatively longer flight. Her first plane ride was a really short one to KL, a mere 1 hour away. If she's manageable on the flight, we can then consider budget airlines such as Scoot or even Jetstar for our subsequent travels. So why Taiwan? There are plenty of reasons for our choice other than both Mr. Keir and myself love Taiwan for the food and hospitality. I'm sure you may have come across Awesome kids friendly accommodation with slides and other themed rooms in Taiwan that are trending in facebook. That was one of the many reasons why we want to go Taiwan too!

BTO Keys Collection and BTO Door Opening Ceremony

And so after a long 4 years wait, our BTO is finally ready for keys collection. To be honest we totally forgot about out BTO and was pleasantly surprised to receive an SMS from HDB to inform us of our BTO keys collection date. That was when we frantically tried to hunt for an ID. Ok to cut the story short, here's what happened on the BTO keys collection day as well as what we did for our "BTO Door Opening Ceremony". There really wasn't an official BTO door opening ritual or ceremony in fengshui. I guess this is just a Singapore custom. Though we do not have a religion, in particular, we just did it for an ease of mind. Our 7 Day 6 Nights Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary Preview

Here's a preview of our Taiwan Child Friendly Itinerary for our trip to Taiwan earlier this month in May 2017. You can click on the respective days for a detailed post. And so we finally embarked on our journey to Taiwan onboard Singapore Airlines! Thanks to Singapore Airlines 70th Anniversary promo, we decided to splurge a little on the air tickets. The air tickets cost about $1,440 for 2 adults and 1 3.5 yr old. We spent a total of 7 days 6 nights in Taiwan altogether. But in order to make our Taiwan trip more child-friendly, relaxing, and to cut down on travelling time, we merely visited the North part of Taiwan primarily - Hsinchu, Yilan and Taipei.
